ADVERBS AND ADJECTIVES

1️⃣ Short adjectives and adverbs (one syllable)

Add -er to the word + than.

Base Comparative Example

fast faster She runs faster than her brother.
tall taller I am taller than my cousin.

2️⃣ Long adjectives and adverbs (two or more syllables)

Use more + adjective/adverb + than.

Base Comparative Example

3️⃣ Irregular forms

Some words change completely:

Base Comparative Example
