Lesson #39- (PAST TENSE: Irregular Verbs)

PAST TENSE

Irregular Verbs

Most verbs in English make the past tense by adding -ed (like work → worked).
But some verbs are irregular, which means their past tense form is different and must be memorized.

Examples:

  • go → went
  • buy → bought
  • eat → ate
  • drive → drove
  • fall → fell
  • find → found
  • hit → hit
  • grow → grew
  • win → won
  • steal → stole

We use the past tense to talk about actions that happened before now.
