FUTURE TENSE with Will

We use will + verb to talk about the future.

  • Will shows what is going to happen, what someone promises, or what someone decides at the moment of speaking.

  • The short form (’ll) is very common in speaking and is also used in writing.

Examples:

  • Full form: I will call you tomorrow.

  • Short form: I’ll call you tomorrow.


Exercises

Instructions: Complete the sentences with will and the correct verb in parentheses. Write both the full form and the contracted form.

  1. She ______ (visit) her grandmother this weekend. (She will visit / She’ll visit her grandmother this weekend.)

  2. I ______ (help) you with your homework after dinner.

  3. They ______ (travel) to London next summer.

  4. He ______ (not/forget) to bring the tickets.

  5. We ______ (start) the meeting at 10 a.m.

  6. The teacher ______ (explain) the lesson again tomorrow.

  7. You ______ (feel) better if you take this medicine.

  8. My friends ______ (meet) us at the café later.

  9. I ______ (buy) some bread on my way home.

  10. It ______ (rain) tomorrow morning.
