Future Tense with Will

We use will be to talk about the future form of the verb to be.

It shows what someone or something is going to be in the future.

  • I will be (I’ll be)

  • You will be (You’ll be)

  • He will be (He’ll be)

  • She will be (She’ll be)

  • It will be (It’ll be)

  • We will be (We’ll be)

  • They will be (They’ll be)

Examples:

  • I am at home now. → I will be at home tomorrow.

  • She is happy today. → She will be happy next week.

  • They are in class. → They will be in class later.


Exercises

(Change each to the future tense with will be)

  1. I am very busy today. (I will be very busy today.)

  2. She is my classmate.

  3. They are tired after work.

  4. It is a beautiful day.

  5. We are ready for the test.

  6. He is in the library.

  7. The children are at school.

  8. You are late for the meeting.

  9. This is a good idea.

  10. The restaurant is closed.
