GENERAL REVIEW

Part A – From Affirmative to Negative

Instructions:
Rewrite the following sentences in the negative form. Use both the full form (did not / does not / am not) and the contracted form (didn’t / doesn’t / isn’t).

Example:
They live in Texas.
→ They do not live in Texas. / They don’t live in Texas.

Practice Sentences:

  1. He plays football every weekend.

  2. We watched a movie last night.

  3. She speaks three languages.

  4. I enjoyed the party.

  5. The store opens at 9 a.m.

  6. They visited Paris last summer.

  7. He drinks coffee every morning.

  8. I was at the meeting yesterday.

  9. They are in the living room now.

  10. She cooked pasta for dinner.


Part B – From Statements to Yes/No Questions

Instructions:
Change the sentences from Part A into Yes/No questions. Remember to start with the auxiliary verb (do, does, did, is, was) and use correct word order.

Example:
They live in Texas.
→ Do they live in Texas?

Practice Sentences:

  1. Do he play football every weekend?

  2. Did we watch a movie last night?

  3. Does she speak three languages?

  4. Did you enjoy the party?

  5. Does the store open at 9 a.m.?

Part C – From Statements to WH- Questions

Instructions:
Change the sentences from Part A into questions beginning with a question word (where, what, why, when, how, who). Use the appropriate question word for each sentence.

Example:
They live in Texas.
→ Where do they live? / Why do they live in Texas?

Practice Sentences:

  2. We watched a movie last night. (What)

  3. She speaks three languages. (Which)
